Define Question Mark

- A punctuation mark represented by: ?
- Used to indicate a question being asked
Rule 1
- At the end of a question
- example: Does she like to read?
Rule 2
- When a quote contains a question
- Include the question mark in the parenthesis
- example: She asked him, "Do you know what time it is?"
Rule 3
- When a question contains a quote, even if the quote is not a question
- Place the question mark outside of the parenthesis
- example: What if I told you, "You're going to have a problem"?
Rule 4
- Do not use question marks with an indirect question.
- example: She asked the teacher a question.
