A Haiku is a Japanese poem.
What are the rules for writing a Haiku?
- A Haiku MUST be EXACTLY 3 lines.
- The lines must follow the 5-7-5 format.
- The first line contains ONLY 5 syllables.
- The second line contains ONLY 7 syllables.
- The third line contains ONLY 5 syllables.
- The Haiku MUST express a thought, feeling, or mood.
- The Haiku should not rhyme.
Example:
He makes me feel great.
The best part is yet to come.
I feel beautiful.
